Assessment 1A – Developing your Project Idea (proposal) . Please remember this is a hypothetical project which will not be implemented. This is to allow you the flexibility to adapt your project to meet the assessment requirements of this unit without the constraints imposed by a “real” project.
Project topics :Development and implementation of a change in practice by implementing a project to introduce new handover tools -(ISBAR) to our ward.
Think about the following and what of these you need to include to be able to deliver your project:

sourcing the appropriate equipment or resource
•
producing the resource
•
in all cases you will need to educate staff to implement
•
evaluation of the product may also be included in your project time frame

Assessment 1B – Project Idea Development
Write a project problem statement that provides a clear statement about the key problem to be solved and needs to be addressed. Have a look at the link, in the unit content, to the resource to assist with writing the problem statement
Write a project goal stating what you want to achieve, what is the long term change/benefits and /or desired outcome.
Draft a justification for the project that explains why you need to undertake the project in your organisation and why you will implement a particular solution to the identified problem you are hoping to address by completing the project. You need to be able to identify why the organisation should fund your project and link this to your organisational strategic plan.
Write three (3) project objectives, which must be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely (SMART). These objectives need to align with the goal. Look at the unit content and resource links on writing objectives.
List five (5) project outputs (deliverables) which will be produced from the objectives.
