You have another patient admission and that patient is diagnosed with the same chest infection as the patient in isolation. You have a problem with bed allocation and are finding it difficult to find a suitable single room for this patient. What can you do to manage this?

Expert solution paper

In this situation, the patient can be moved to same room with patient with contagious chest infection with productive cough. But both the patients should wear persinal protective equipments such as mask, gloves etc....This type of isolation is called cohort isolation, this will reduce the spread of contagious disease. In this scenario, the 2 patients have 2 similar condition. If problem in allocation of room cause the patient unattended. This can cause infection to many other people. So it's better to stay the patient in same room and can be shifted to other room when room is ready.
