Co-opetition is a significant form of organizing in that allows companies to merge their unique resources to support each other so they can partake in the benefits it yields (Nalebuff & Bradenburger, 1997).

Despite these opportunities, challenges may entail determining the amount of value sharing, how such value will be shared, and when the value sharing will occur. Furthermore, determining how to adapt to trends and marketplace dynamics and altering the co-opetition strategy may pose a challenge as well with regard to negotiating potential new terms and conditions of the partnership.

The significance of these two factors have the ability to substantially impact the industry in which they operate and its endusers, specifically by creating new co-opetition trends and affecting the quality, pricing, and delivery of the company’s outputs that are directed toward the enduser.
